15 December 2021Rebecca Evans AS/MS, Minister for Finance and Local Government, Welsh Government, has sent a letter to community and town councils in Wales, confirming that the Eligible Community Councils (General Power of Competence) (Qualifications of Clerks) (Wales) Regulations 2022 has been laid before the Senedd and will come into effect on 5 May 2022.
She went on to thank all those who had responded to the consultation earlier this year which sought views on the type of qualification suitable for a clerk to gain in order for their community council to be able to exercise the General Power of Competence (GPoC). A summary of the responses can now be found on the Welsh Government website.
