12 February 2024We have updated our Operation London Bridge advisory documents. Please note that this is an interim update until such time new guidance has been received from the Civic Protocol Advisor.
Operation London Bridge is the code name given to the death of the Monarch. All councils need to be prepared as this will only happen once and the actions taken must be done correctly.
The advice pack includes:
- Advice Note, including advice on the mourning period, condolence book, how to present your website and public holidays
- Action Plan with guidance on what your council should consider carrying out NOW to be prepared
- A calendar of actions to be taken from the day of death, D-Day, to the funeral and beyond.
