The SLCC is embarking on an exciting project to develop a Masters for people practising in the local council sector. We are looking for expressions of interest by the end of September to help us demonstrate to De Montfort University (DMU) that we can start planning this project with their Local Government Research Centre.
The focus of the Masters is likely to be policy and practice affecting local communities. Your studies may involve, for example, place-making, policy-making, action research and critical reflection, Other information that might help you to consider this opportunity include:
- Flexible study (eg two-day study event every two months)
- Part-time study over two years
- Fee at least £5300 (paid over two years) – maybe more depending on DMU financial decisions
The aim is to recruit students for starting to study in the New Year of 2021. If you would like to express your interest in taking part in the first cohort, please let Elisabeth Skinner ([email protected]) and Dom Stapleton ([email protected]) know by September 30th.
If you have any further questions, please do ask – but note, this is a very early stage in the discussions and, as yet, we have very few answers!
We need at least 10 expressions of interest for discussions to go ahead.
