3 December 2018The Observer reports on a proposal from residents to establish a new town council in Spitalfields, within the borough of Tower Hamlets. David Donoghue, the coordinator of the campaign, said the town council would have a tighter focus on the issues that concern local residents, including anti-social behaviour, litter, green spaces and street lighting.
A first consultation phase closes at the end of December, with a second to take place in the spring, while the borough council will take a final decision next year.
