We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shelley Parker FSLCC to the new role of External Affairs and Policy Development Manager at SLCC.
Shelley’s career has spanned all tiers of government including time at North Wiltshire District Council as it morphed into a unitary council, followed by a number of years as a civil servant in the Diplomatic Service working in Whitehall and embassies and high commissions overseas.
Most recently, Shelley was the clerk to Cricklade Town Council and then Marlborough Town Council, both in Wiltshire. She has been an SLCC member since 2009.
Shelley is an advocate for professional development and is about to enter the final year of the Community Governance Level 6 degree course with De Montfort University (DMU) and was delighted to be awarded the David Trafford Prize for achievement along the way.
Shelley is looking forward to working with the Board’s External Affairs Working Group to develop and define SLCC’s policy and priorities, and with the Executive team to ensure that all of SLCC’s services and offerings are aligned and supportive of policy.
