19 January 2024The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities advised that the appropriate sum for the purpose of section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 for parish and town councils in England for 2024-25 is £10.81.
This is the amount as a result from increasing the amount of £9.93 for 2023-2024 by the percentage increase in the retail price index between September 2022 and September 2023, in accordance with Schedule 12B to the 1972 Act.
