17 April 2024A petition has been submitted to Salford City Council to create a new town council by the name of Town of Broughton Park Council. More than 1,000 Salford residents have signed the petition, which calls for more powers to be devolved to the local community, including refuse collection, highway maintenance, litter bins and street cleaning.
The next step is for Salford City Council to carry out a formal 12-month consultation process into the petition.
