1 October 2024SLCC has been made aware of a scam carried out by Parish UK specifically targeting town, parish and community councils. They do this through the creation of what could be construed as official town and parish council websites, which includes information relating to the council, education, business, planning, property, heritage and farming. Spam emails are then being sent to businesses purporting to come directly from these town and parish councils enquiring about business listings alongside requests for payment.
They also operate a support page as well as support email address [email protected].
SLCC urges all members to keep an eye out for this scam.
