We have been advised that members of one of the unions involved, the GMB, have voted to accept the pay offer in its pay ballot. Just over half (53%) voted to accept the offer.
Another union, UNISON has not accepted it, however. Their consultative ballot closed at the end of June and their members have voted to reject the pay offer.
In UNITE’s ballot result their members have also rejected the offer. The unions will discuss what their next steps are.
For the pay offer to be confirmed the majority of the unions need to accept it, and that has not been achieved yet.
The pay offer was for a flat rate increase of £1,290 for SCP 2 – 43 or 2.5% for SCP 44 upwards.
We will advise of further developments as soon as possible.
