The National Employers have considered this matter and agreed unanimously on this offer which was put to the NJC Trade Unions yesterday
- with effect from 1 April 2022, an increase of £1,925 on all NJC pay points 1 and above
- with effect from 1 April 2022, an increase of 4.04 per cent on all allowances
- with effect from 1 April 2023, an increase of one day to all employees’ annual leave entitlement
- with effect from 1 April 2023, the deletion of pay point 1 from the NJC pay spine.
A two year pay deal covering the period 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2024 was seriously considered but the prevailing political situation and the pressures on the cost of living meant that they decided against this at the present time.
The National Employers were very aware of the situation with inflation as measured by CPI at 9.4% and likely to rise further. Further there is continuing pressures on fuel, food and energy that are impacting employees and employers.
The Trade Unions will be taking the views of their members before responding on this offer.
