Devizes Town Council is seeking to appoint a Town Clerk/Chief Executive and Responsible Financial Officer following the retirement of the current post holder.
Devizes Town Council delivers many key services, following a delegation agreement with Wiltshire Council and sees itself as a progressive council with clear strategic ambitions for the town as well as ensuring it promotes strong community cohesion through its support for events and engagement. To help the council deliver its strategic ambitions, you must be a champion of excellence and foster a culture of innovation. You will also be someone who will be the voice of the community, lead with integrity and build strong relationships with residents and stakeholders.
As an applicant you must be able to demonstrate that you have strong leadership skills, both to manage a range of diverse services ensuring that the Council’s various departments deliver key performance indicators set by elected members as well as seeking continuous improvement to ensure that services reflect the needs of the community.
The Council is currently involved in a number of significant projects and as such you must have strong project management skills, ensuring that projects are well managed within agreed timescales and budgets, alongside ensuring that all sectors of the community are informed and consulted on their progress.
The successful applicant will either hold or must obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification within 12 months of appointment.
The post’s salary is between SCP 58 and 62.
