Town Clerk
Applications must be returned by 12/10/2020
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established but growing town council in an attractive Devon town on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park area. The vacancy arises due to the retirement of the current Town Clerk and Ivybridge Town Council seeks a skilled and resilient manager to lead the council into the future.
You will need to be able to provide strong leadership and build a wide range of positive working relationships with councillors, staff and partner organisations across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
This is a real opportunity for an experienced, solutions focused manager who is dynamic and innovative, and who will work with councillors to meet the aspirations of the people of Ivybridge.
It would be beneficial if you brought experience of managing commercial activities, parks and sports facilities as well as engagement with health and social housing sectors. The town has a Neighbourhood Plan and allocation of section 106 money which offer a myriad of opportunities to shape the future of Ivybridge whilst meeting the challenges of climate change.
You may be an experienced clerk or deputy clerk to a parish or town council with knowledge, experience and status as a qualified clerk. However, you may also have a successful background in either Local Government or the private sector and to prioritise achieving the relevant clerks qualification.
