Middleton-on-Sea Parish Council is seeking applications for the post of Parish Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer. This is a part time permanent vacancy for 20 hours per week. The role involves evening meetings which are held in the Jubilee Hall in the village. The Parish Council will supply computer and other equipment as necessary
We are looking for someone who is familiar with computerised systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills are essential, knowledge of website maintenance an advantage
The Parish Council will be appointing an Administration Assistant to work alongside the Parish Clerk. This appointment will be based on 10 hours per week.
The salary offered is pro-rata to the national scale which will depend on experience, with progression through the pay scale dependant on training and performance. Benefits include company pension scheme, sick pay and the ability to work from home. Parish Council employees are engaged on the NALC model contract. Experience of working in local government would be an advantage but not essential.
The Parish Clerk will be responsible to the Parish Council as a corporate body and will play an integral role in serving the parishioners of Middleton-on-Sea. This is a varied and interesting position which includes assisting in the preparation of a Neighbourhood Development Plan and challenges to the village from infrastructure and other developments.
