Parish Clerk and Proper Officer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons, although training will be offered and an enthusiasm to learn may be an alternative to formal qualifications. The Parish Clerk will be responsible for the administration of the business and finance of the council.
The post includes some evening work. The successful applicant would be expected to have or be prepared to obtain CiLCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration).
Permanent Part Time Position – currently 15 hours per week (to include evening meetings). This will rise over time as the parish grows, giving the opportunity of becoming a full-time role

As Head of the Paid Service and the Proper Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the lawful instructions of the council in connection with its functions as a Local Authority are carried out and issuing all statutory notifications.
You will be expected to develop and manage policy, strategy and operations by working with elected council members external bodies and staff and to provide inspirational leadership to staff.
The position will be predominantly office based and a contributory Pension Scheme is available.
