The Victoria History of the Counties of England was established in 1899 with aim to provide a local history of each county in England.
The Northamptonshire Victoria County History Trust has recently concluded its work on its latest Volume and is now focussing on its next project in the county.
The Trust currently consists of 12 Trustees, all of whom are volunteers and is looking to appoint a Secretary to support it with its future project and specifically administer the operational aspects of the Trust and to provide advice and support to the Trust.
The position is also voluntary with a time commitment of 2/3 days per month. To recognise this there is a remuneration of £900 per year, plus any expenses reasonably incurred.
In brief, the Secretary will organise all meetings of the Trust and will, in consultation with the Chairman, set the agenda and prepare and circulate all documentation. The Secretary will also minute the meetings and maintain a record of all decisions and monitor implementation.
The Trust is looking for someone with good organisational skills, who can manage all aspects of meetings administration, including the taking of accurate minutes and decision records.
This is an opportunity for those interested in the history of Northamptonshire, and particularly the Daventry area, which is the Trust’s next project, to contribute to the recording of its local history,
