The vacancy is for a full-time post (37 hours per week) and are seeking applications from dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced individuals committed to delivering high standards of service and who can promote the interests and development of the town.

The Council is looking for an individual with a ‘can do’ attitude with relevant experience who can demonstrate strong governance, financial management and effective leadership skills to assist in the provision of a wide range of services.

Terms & Conditions – Deputy Town Clerk

Salary: SCP 28 – 32

Payment of salary: Paid monthly in arrears.

Probation period: The post is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.

Pension: NEST Government Pension Scheme.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Council meetings are currently held on Monday/Tuesday evenings. Regular evening and occasional weekend working will be required for which time off in lieu will be granted. It may be necessary for the post holder to work in excess of these hours on occasions to meet deadlines.

References: The post is subject to two satisfactory references.

Place of work: The role is based at the Town Council offices, currently located at the Corn Exchange in Ross-on-Wye but the post holder will be required to work out of, and visit, other sites in and around the county.

Annual Leave entitlement: 23 working days, increasing by 4 days after 5 years continuous service, plus all normal bank and public holidays.
