Location: Council Office, South Lodge, East Common, Gerrards Cross, SL9 7AD

Overall Responsibilities:
To provide efficient and effective support to the Town Clerk to ensure the smooth running of the town council.
- General office administration including responding to queries, complaints and requests for information from members of the public and councillors in person, via telephone calls and emails.
Assisting the Town Clerk in a variety of duties including but not limited to:
- To deputise for the town clerk as required
- To attend, as required, meetings of the council and its committees, specifically the Planning Committee, and to prepare agendas and minutes for the meetings
- To monitor the council’s website, Facebook page and Twitter and update as requested by the clerk
- To keep the town council’s noticeboards up to date
- To assist in the organisation of events such as the Annual Town Meeting
- To administer the town council’s Taxi Concessionary Scheme
- To co-ordinate the production of “VOICE”, the town council’s quarterly newsletter
- To attend training courses or seminars on the work and role of the Assistant Clerk as required
Skills & Competencies
- Local Government experience desirable
- Ability to create and manage own workload
- Literate, numerate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Information gathering and information monitoring skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to deal with a wide range of people with diplomacy and tact
- Ability to work from home, as required
