Hours: 30 per week, part-time. Permanent Role


Axminster Town Council is seeking to appoint a second officer to our new team of staff.  This is an exciting new role which is being created following a review of our previous structure. The Council is
a forward-looking organisation serving the residents of Axminster and surrounding area to deliver high quality services and amenities.

The Council Administrator will:

  • be responsible for the management and maintenance of the Council’s property portfolio.
  • be responsible for ensuring the effective development and delivery of Council projects and initiatives to implement the Strategic Plan of the Council
  • be required to liaise with the community and strategic partners in the scoping, planning and delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • line manage our handyman and other outdoor staff.
  • support volunteers in their important contributions to Council and community activities
  • be required to cover for the Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer when they are absent due to holiday leave or illness.

This is a part–time role which involves attendance at some evening meetings and occasionally working outside office hours. The successful applicant will be supported to achieve the nationally accredited Certificate in Local Council Administration.
