Vacancy for an administrator and a co-ordinator roles – a total of 35 hours per week to support both the town council and Haxby and Wigginton Cemetery

Haxby Town Council is looking for an enthusiastic and committed administrator and co-ordinator. This is an exciting, new role that requires someone with the experience to take on a key function in the town council team. Duties will include being the first point of contact for the public and attending occasional meetings and town council events as required. The ability to work on your own initiative and take responsibility, whilst being well organised and a good communicator is essential. The role has excellent opportunities for training including achieving ILCA and CILCA qualifications for which study leave will be given.

Haxby and Wigginton Cemetery is in the ownership of Haxby Town Council and Wigginton Parish Council, to the north of the city of York. The cemetery is managed by a cemetery committee consisting of four councillors from each council. The cemetery committee is seeking to appoint a dynamic, forward thinking and proactive administrator to support the Haxby and Wigginton Cemetery Committee to achieve its aims and aspirations of delivering an effective cemetery service as a burial authority. Flexibility is a very important component of this role. Opportunities will be available for the post holder to undertake the Institute of Cemetery and Crematoria Management Certificate in Cemetery Management within three years of starting employment.

Salary:

SCP5 £23,500 – SCP7 £24,294 pro-rata for 20 hours – town council administration

SCP9 £25,119 – SCP26 £34,834 pro-rata for 15 hours – cemetery administration

The salary for each role will depend on experience.
