22 January 2020This year’s International Women’s Day (IWD), 8th March, has events being held throughout the world. The first IWD gathering was held in 1911 and is now supported globally by over a million people. The theme for 2020 is #EachforEqual which promotes the notion that collectively we can each help to create a gender equal world.
SLCC President, Linda Larter MBE FSLCC, is organising an event on Monday 9th March in Sevenoaks where she is Chief Executive to Sevenoaks Town Council.
The lunch will be held at St Julians Club and will be raising funds for Breast Cancer Now and Mencap. Tickets are £28 per person and can be booked by telephone: 01732 459953 – ask for Anita or Mark.
There is also an opportunity to sponsor a young woman to attend the event by purchasing an additional ticket, you may have a person in mind to bring along or you can ask the organisers to use your sponsorship to allow young women from the local schools to attend.
