HMK Portrait Scheme Closure on 15 August 2024 – Last opportunity to apply

8 August 2024

To celebrate the new reign of His Majesty The King, the previous government announced a voluntary scheme throughout the United Kingdom to allow public authorities to apply for a free, framed Portrait in April 2023.

The scheme launched on 14 November, 2023. Local authorities, court buildings, schools, police forces and fire and rescue services are among the public institutions across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland that were able to apply for the new official photographic portrait of His Majesty, funded by the UK Government.

In February 2024, the scheme was extended to include town, parish and community councils and Ministry of Defence-sponsored cadet forces.

Further to the scheme’s extension to the additional groups, the scheme’s closing date was extended to 15 August 2024 for all authorities.

This scheme is closing for applications from all authorities and organisations on 15 August. If you have not applied yet for this voluntary scheme but are planning to, they need to do so before the scheme closes on 15 August.
