4 November 2020The SLCC has received a response from Luke Hall MP, Minister for Regional Growth and Local Government with regard to Covid-19 and financial support for town and parish councils.
The letter expresses his gratitude for all the work that has been carried out by town and parish councils and recognises the power of building relationships throughout local communities and what can be achieved.
The minister has reiterated that the Government does not have the powers to compel principal authorities to pass down funding to local councils, however, has flagged up the clarification regarding the eligibility for town and parish councils for the three Covid-19 business support grant schemes which was published in August.
