CiLCA Portfolio Course
This is a training course for clerks and deputy clerks in Wales who wish to obtain their CiLCA Level 3 qualification. The CiLCA portfolio course sessions will be webinar based and delivered over 4 to 6 webinar sessions, once a month throughout the year.

Session 1 – Wednesday 07 October 2020
Session 2 – Wednesday 04 November 2020
Session 3 – Wednesday 02 December 2020
Session 4 – Wednesday 20 January 2021
Session 5 – Wednesday 17 February 2021
Session 6 – Wednesday 17 March 2021
Time: Each session will be from 10:00am – 12:00pm
Price
The cost for this course is: £250 + VAT
Please note that the above cost is for the CiLCA Portfolio training course only and not the CiLCA qualification.
Students must register for the CiLCA qualification separately and the registration fee is £350 (from 01 October 2020 the fee is £410).
We recommend registering for the CiLCA qualification once you have attended at least the first session of the training course.

Joining instructions will be sent to you 3 weeks before the event and your invoice will be sent before the event. We advise that, on receipt of the joining instructions, you are liable for any fees incurred in order to attend the event.
Course content
The content of these webinar courses will be the same as what is delivered on the face to face training. Each of the webinar sessions is 2 hours in length and will cover the individual units for CiLCA in succession. The course covers the following areas of CiLCA
- The EMMA ePortfolio system
- Background to each unit and learning outcome in the CiLCA Portfolio guide / Canllaw Portffolio giving you a broad knowledge of all the aspects of the clerk’s work
- Evidence required to build your ePortfolio for the CiLCA qualification

Meet the Trainer – Paul Egan
Holds the CiLCA qualification and has been the Clerk to Llandough Community Council for 35 years. He is also the Deputy Chief Executive of One Voice Wales and has responsibility for leading on the national training programme for Councillors. In his former career, he was Director of Human Resources/Deputy Chief Officer for the South Wales Probation Service and during his long career in this field he was a member of a range of regional and national policy making groups. Prior to his early retirement he was Acting Chief Probation Officer for the South Wales area. He is currently a Trustee of a local charity and a Director of a private limited company. Since early retirement he has worked as a freelance HR Consultant and for around 2 years was the Corporation Secretary for a Cardiff based College of Further Education. He has always been an advocate of training and development and is committed to helping Clerks successfully complete the CiLCA qualification.
