Overview

This session will provide you with useful tools and techniques to deal with challenging or abusive calls or online posts.

The advice will cover how to handle abuse / an abusive email and deal with challenge on social media.

It will include how to respond to criticism outside of your responsibility, particularly if it relates to another tier of local authority, and how to keep colleagues updated about issues.

The session will be led by Mosaic CEO, Karen Ainley. Karen is a former BBC journalist with 25 years’ experience of training with local councils.

About the Trainer

Karen Ainley is the lead trainer and CEO of Mosaic Media and Marketing Training.

Karen is a former newspaper journalist and BBC radio and TV reporter. She has more than 20 years’ experience of training hundreds of organisations, from government departments and local authorities to blue-chip companies and charities. She supports many well-known organisations with their crisis communications, providing both strategic advice as well as 24/7 call-out support. Karen’s husband is a county council leader and borough councillor.
