| Taking a Cash-First Approach to Food Insecurity Locally This session will touch on the scale of the UK’s food insecurity crisis and the need to challenge the default institutionalisation of a second-tier charitable food aid system. It will also address the conflation of the food surplus and food poverty problems. In this context, we will discuss how IFAN advocates for a cash first approach on a national and local level and how we can all be players in promoting a cash first approach in our communities. IFAN is a network of charitable food aid providers including over 550 independent food banks. IFAN’s vision is of a country without the need for charitable food aid where adequate and nutritious food is affordable to all. We advocate on behalf of our members and call for a ‘cash first’ approach to food insecurity. Taking a Cash-First Approach to Food Insecurity Locally |

| The SEE MONSTER Legacy for Weston-super-Mare Getting local engagement with residents, communities, businesses, voluntary organisations and other partners can be tough. It’s often the case that the same people apply for grant funding and turn up to meetings. What about the wider community and how can we engage with them so the council isn’t ‘hard to reach’? In her role as Community Manager on the SEE MONSTER art installation platform, Becky Walsh will share her experiences in creating a ‘Think Tank’ engagement strategy for SEE MONSTER and how this same strategy can be applied to town and parish councils.

| CAMpra – Financial Benefits of Embracing Motorcaravan Tourism We will explain who CAMpra are, what our aims are and what an Aire is. We will explain the huge financial chasm that exists between UK and Europe when it comes to welcoming motorhomes and the largely untapped revenue, they bring with them. We will give examples of the Aires system in Europe and will explain what financial rewards councils are missing that will help with economic recovery and examples of success stories in the UK over the last two years. We will explain how we can support our town clerks to establish Aires, bringing this year’s revenue stream to their towns, extending the tourism season, and levelling out tourism across the Country.
