The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is rolling out its bottom-up approach to community engagement called Future Energy Landscapes (FEL) and have published a new FEL toolkit as an open source and free-to-use methodology for local planning authorities, parish councils and community energy groups.
The FEL approach is effective in supporting local planning authorities in developing ambitious planning policies for renewable deployment in their areas, while maintaining community support. It considers the types and scales of renewable energy that local communities might find acceptable, the potential landscape impacts they might accept, and the benefits they can derive.
CSE is hosting a low-cost online training session on 14 September 2023 at 2pm where you can learn more about their new toolkit and how the FEL approach can be used effectively.
