The Big Lunch, surplus food charity FareShare, and skills organisation City & Guilds have joined forces to launch a new Sharing Table Award worth £5000 to recognise the importance of communities sharing friendship, food, skills, and resources.
The Big Lunch has been bringing millions of people together to share friendship, food, and fun in their communities since 2009. This unique Sharing Table Award forms part of Eden Project’s campaign to bring people and communities together for the greenest Big Lunch yet on 1 and 2 June 2024.
The winning community will receive a package worth £5,000 including:
- A specially designed Sharing Table made by the people at City & Guilds
- Funding towards their community projects and ideas
- A Big Lunch hamper with food and resources to support their celebration
A further three finalists will each receive a hamper of goodies to support them to have a Big Lunch, and £500 towards a project or ideas for their community.

The deadline for applications is 9am on 20 May 2024. The award is open to communities, streets, neighbourhoods or projects across the UK.
