19 September 2018Congratulations to Alton Town Council in Hampshire who are the only local council to have their application shortlisted for the 2018 Great British High Street Awards. All other entrants among the 38 high streets shortlisted across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have been submitted by county, district or unitary councils.
The awards, run by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and sponsored by Visa, recognise and celebrate local achievements on our high streets and shine a light on great examples of how high streets can meet the challenges of changing consumer behaviour and a changing retail environment.
The winners, who will be announced on 15th November 2018, will receive up to £15,000 in prize money.
