About the Trainer

Tyler Harris is the Legal Adviser for the National Allotment Society (NAS) which is a membership organisation dedicated to the protection and preservation of allotments. The NAS has been around for almost 100 years and acts as the voice of the allotment movement in discussions with government bodies,  helps provide its members with benefits such as discounted seeds and insurance, and helps to defend allotments that are under threat of disposal.

Tyler has been with the NAS for over 5 years and his day-to-day role is to provide free initial legal advice to NAS members. He deals with a range of issues such as handling leftover possessions, changes to lease agreements and issuing warnings for breaches of rules. Tyler also manages the Allotment Officer Forums that are arranged by the NAS, to help bring council staff who have responsibility for allotments to come together and discuss any issues that they may have.
