SLCC has produced a new advice note in response to the government introducing changes to flexible working law. New statutory arrangements will be coming into effect from April 2024, including changes to when an employee can make a request for flexible working, how many requests can be made a within a 12-month period, response times from employers to flexible working requests, a duty on employers to consult with the employee before rejecting a request, and a simplified request procedure.
The government carried out a consultation on flexible working laws in 2021, to which SLCC contributed. You can read a summary of their response here.
