SLCC has submitted its response to the government’s consultation on proposed changes to, as well as new, Permitted Development Rights (PDR) in England. This includes rights that would allow the change of use of certain commercial, business and service buildings, as well as the change of use of agricultural buildings to dwelling houses and the erection or extension of schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, and some prisons. It also explores the use of local design codes to change Permitted Rights.
Thank you to all members who contributed to our call for feedback on these proposals, it greatly helped us formulate our response.
