The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) are conducting a short survey on the topic of local council meetings and the use of virtual meeting technology. The results will help NALC’s campaign for legislative change to allow councils the flexibility to use virtual meeting technologies for council meetings, understand how councils might use virtual meeting technologies (if they were permitted to do so), and assess the potential benefits and challenges of in-person, virtual and hybrid council meetings. The survey is being carried out in parallel with the Local Government Association (LGA) survey of principal councils and is open to councillors and clerks from all local councils.
