We are excited to bring you a new opportunity to play an instrumental role in the setup and management of the SLCC Educational Trust, a new charity dedicated to developing education in our sector and promoting awareness and participation in local government. The work of the charity will include supporting council officers with the costs of study for qualifications and raising the profile of local government in communities. The overarching aim of the charity is to develop the professionalism of the sector for the benefit of people in communities across England and Wales.
As a trustee you will be pivotal in the establishment of the charity’s goals and objectives, as well as being part of the decision panel for grant funding. You will be expected to act in the charity’s best interests with reasonable care and skill, as well as responsibly managing the charity’s resources.
If you would like to express an interest in being a member of the board of trustees, please send an email to Linda Larter MBE FSLCC, Chair of the Educational Trust, [email protected], with a 200-word supporting statement outlining why you would like to be a trustee and the experience and knowledge you feel you would bring to the charity.
Applications are welcomed from current/former clerks as well as others who have an interest in the sector and furthering the charity’s objects.
The charity wishes to maintain sufficient separation from the management of SLCC and therefore is not accepting applications from currently serving SLCC Directors at this time.
Please note that applications have now closed.
