5 April 2023We are pleased to announce that Angie Hurren BEM FSLCC, SLCC Community Governance (CG) Course Leader, and Libby White BEM FSLCC, Clerk to Great Shelford Parish Council, have been invited to attend the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May 2023.
Both Angie and Libby are local council clerks and CG Level 6 graduates with First Class Honours degrees from De Montfort University (DMU), and were awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to their communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Angie says: “It is an incredible honour and privilege to be part of such a momentous occasion! As representatives not just of our respective communities, but also the whole of the town and parish council sector, we are proud to have the opportunity to participate in this historic event. This invitation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone who has worked tirelessly to improve their communities and contribute to the betterment of our society, before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic.
We look forward to joining with other distinguished guests in celebrating this remarkable moment in our nation’s history. It is an occasion to be cherished for years to come, and we are humbled to have been given the chance to be a part of it.”
