The Department for Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS) has launched a consultation into short-term holiday lets in England.
It will look at possible solutions (including regulation) to the problems caused by short-term property lets, and ways to improve the holiday letting market for those living in popular tourism destinations.
It’s specifically a call for evidence and insight into the following:
- Changes and growth in the short-term letting market
- Benefits of short-term lets
- Challenges, including compliance with the existing regulatory framework, and housing & community impacts
- The impact of potential policy responses
The consultation runs to 21 September 2022. There is also an accompanying press release.
