This year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
Celebrated annually on 8 March, the campaign theme for 2022 is #BreakTheBias. Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Action is needed to level the playing field.
To tie-in with this global day, SLCC are running webinars on personal power called ‘The Balance of Power and Grace’. Becky Walsh, Communications and Marketing Officer for Weston-super-Mare Town Council and sought-after speaker who has appeared at the world-renowned seminar ‘I can do it’, will lead the training to show you how to balance your power with grace and magnificence.
Choose to attend the webinar on 1 or 24 March for only £30 + VAT for members or £35 + VAT for non-members. Click here to find out more.
SLCC Past President, Linda Larter MBE FSLCC, is also organising an event on Tuesday 8 March in Sevenoaks where she is Chief Executive to Sevenoaks Town Council.
The lunch will be held at the Bat and Ball Centre with guest speakers such as actor Juliette Cheveley and will be raising funds for the MS Society. Tickets can be booked by contacting [email protected] or 01732 459953.
