The University of Surrey’s Centre for Environment and Sustainability (CES) is inviting parish and town councils to take part in a research survey on climate and ecological emergencies.
With many local councils declaring climate and ecological emergencies, the survey will ascertain the needs of different users on what tools and approaches to help monitor, evaluate and be accountable for action taken arising from climate and ecological emergency declarations.
Currently, there are a plethora of different tools and approaches used to monitor and evaluate sustainability initiatives. However, without a standardised national system, their application is inconsistent.
The initial findings from the survey will feature in a workshop held in November 2021 to explore how different user groups are engaged in such monitoring and evaluation activities and what can be done to support them in this endeavour.
The survey closes 17 December 2021.
