21 October 2021The three trade unions in their response rejecting the pay offer of 1.75% from 1 April 2021, asked the National Employers to consider re-opening the negotiations to seek an improvement.
The employers have now met and considered this request carefully and the decision was made to reaffirm the offer as their full and final position.
In making this they recognise the difficult climate in which local government employees work but this is the limit of affordability that can be achieved and there is no prospect of it being increased. They add that they hope it can be accepted to enable staff to get the pay rise as soon as possible.
