Luke Hall, local government minister and MP for Thornbury and Yate, has been let go as Boris Johnson continues to rebuild his ministerial team.
One of Mr Hall’s responsibilities, ‘levelling up’, will now have its own minister, Kemi Badenoch, who has joined the department as minister of state. Ms Badenoch, MP for Saffron Walden, will be a joint minister for both Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, where she will have responsibility for equalities. Ms Badenoch will leave her role as exchequer secretary to the Treasury.
