We are pleased to announce the appointment of Naomi Bibi to the new role of Head of Member Services at SLCC.
Naomi joined the sector in 2015 and spent some years clerking for councils in the South West before working for the Avon Local Councils Association (ALCA). Prior to that she has worked abroad for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and British Council, and has also taught for The Open University.
As an active member of SLCC, Naomi presented at the 2020 Practitioners’ Conference and had a regular column in The Clerk magazine called ‘Naomi’s Notes’. She has served as a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerk’s (IIMC) International Relations Committee and last year received its President’s Award of Merit.
Naomi is a dedicated advocate for the profession and is especially passionate about the need to recognise the unique challenges clerks overcome and the important work they carry out for the communities they serve. She is really looking forward to her new role and to working with members, branch officers and the SLCC’s team of advisors, to ensure high quality and relevant services are identified and delivered.
