Hughenden Parish is set in the heart of the Chilterns, with over 9000 residents across 8 villages. The council was an early adopter of devolved services and has direct responsibility for two playgrounds, open spaces, woodland, eight allotment sites and a garden of rest.

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Clerk who can be proactive, innovative and effective to join this small and ambitious team. The successful candidate will be working at the heart of the parish council and will be supporting, working with and deputising for the Parish Clerk as well as enjoying specific responsibility for the delivery of parishioner facing services.

The postholder will ideally have previous experience of local government, Allotment management and Burial Ground administration. You may already be a practicing clerk or deputy clerk looking for a more challenging role and your experience will support the council as we work on achieving the various stages within the Local Council Award Scheme.
