Anti-fracking campaigners have claimed the controversial gas extraction process is “dead” in the UK, as Cuadrilla has started to remove equipment from its only testing area. Its drilling has been blamed for a series of minor earthquakes, and now the company has no plans to continue work at its Lancashire site. An imminent energy white paper from the Government is also set to prioritise renewable energy over fracking.
