SLCC President at NAMM Banquet

‘I was lucky enough to be invited to the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) Banquet held on 19 October 2024 in Retford. It was a black tie event and quite formal but everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

‘I met many new people and they all had an interesting story to tell, and in turn I had the opportunity to explain more about the SLCC and what clerks actually do and our profession.

‘One of the key moments of the evening was the handing over of the chain from the outgoing president, Steve Davis, to the incoming president, Roy Barham.

There was also a very moving presentation from the Bluebell Wood charity who provide a hospice for children. It was inspiring to hear of the work they do and the evening’s raffle raised £1,500 for this very worthwhile cause.

‘There were speeches, a wonderful meal, then dancing until late, and it was a lovely evening. I would like to express my thanks to all at NAMM for inviting me.’
