Two-thirds of all clerks from smaller Councils are now eligible for training bursary.

If your Council has an annual budgeted income of less than £25,000 and you wish to undergo any training (either technical or personal) before the 31st March 2008, which could include:

  • The SLCC Induction distance learning course Working with your Council - The Knowledge (also the registration fee for CiLCA, the Certificate in Local Council Administration, if applied for at the same time) OR
  • A course to help you with your Certificate in Local Council Administration (in which case the registration fee can be included) OR
  • Any course run by your County Training Partnership OR

THEN YOU QUALIFY AND SHOULD APPLY QUICKLY - WITH FUNDS GENEROUS BUT STRICTLY LIMITED, EARLY APPLICATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL! YOU CAN START THIS TRAINING STRAIGHT AWAY! CONFIRMATION OF THE APPROVAL OF YOUR BURSARY WILL BE RECEIVED WITHIN A WEEK!

So how will this help you? Well, the price of Working for your Council - The Knowledge for smaller parishes will reduce considerably, putting this induction training within the reach of every Council.

If your Council's annual budgeted income is currently less than £25,000, after applying for a 75% bursary, the net cost of WWYC reduces to just £48.75, representing a reduction of £146.25!
