NALC Larger Councils’ Conference and Exhibition – Local Place

1 December 2010, Royal National Hotel, London

With the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act now passed, a new Coalition Government and a climate of public spending cuts at national and local level, it is clear that larger councils have a crucial role to play in developing their local places. This exciting event will give delegates the chance to learn practically how to do this.

Speakers at the conference will include:

Cllr. David Shakespeare, Local Government Association
Senior Communities and Local Government Representative
Sarah McAdam, Commission for Rural Communities
John Findlay, National Association of Local Councils
Nick Randle, Society of Local Council Clerks.
The event will also feature:

· A Keynote Panel plenary session

· A variety of workshops on practical topics

· The Great Debate

· Skills School sessions

· A sector specific exhibition.
