CPD
Members of the Institute of Local Council Management are required to comply with the compulsory requirement of continuing professional development. This is demonstrated by accumulating points through attendance at accredited courses and conferences, delivering training or support to others, or carrying out approved activities. A copy of an individuals completed CPD will need to accompany the annual application to renew membership of the Institute.
A relaxed approach has been taken by the Board during 2009 in respect to CPD returns from members when renewing their ILCM membership. It has recognised that a number of members have either forgotten to submit their plans or have had difficulties in completing them. This situation will not subsist for this current year, as every renewing member as part of the process will be expected to submit an upto date plan. Failure to do so could lead to the loss of membership.
