CPD – What is it and why do it?
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) provides in depth training opportunities for practitioners working for, or involved with Local Councils. Local Councils deal with a multitude of activities and issues. In depth knowledge with such matters gives us confidence and self fulfillment. We must all have been in situations where we have been challenged, or where we just don’t know or even worse where we stumble on just hoping for light at the end of the tunnel. CPD is now there to help and to inspire. CPD is part of the Institute’s platform aimed at defining, refining and performing. Courses also provide practitioners with professional accreditation giving those essential points to help Institute members reaccredit each year. Please note that you do not need to be a member of the Institute to benefit from the courses. But if you would like to know more about the Institute and its work then Bruce Poole, the manager of the ILCM will be pleased to help you.
So what is on offer?
We have developed courses about topics on which you have told us you need help. We have taken those topics to specialist providers, who have worked with us to plan and deliver courses around the country. Each course provides in depth information, discussion opportunities on case studies, as well as details to “work through and do”. In addition you will have an opportunity to network with your course providers and our own Institute members and receive invaluable handouts from the course. We are always interested to hear from you on any further topics you may wish to see on the CPD Programme. Please contact the National CPD Manager Di Dann e mail didann@tiscali.co.uk Tel 01328 878196
(Click on each subject to find details of the course programme and application form including details of the cost of the courses).
